Get to know me!

Hello, I am new to blogging.  I have a lot to share about my experience being a mother, student, health fanatic, and entrepreneur.  The purpose of this blog is to share my journey to optimum health and PHITNESS.  I know that losing weight is a battle we all fight at some point of our lives.  It can be hard, time consuming, and emotionally draining.  The average mom is one that wears many hats.  It is important that while we are leading busy lives and taking care of our families and financial responsibilities, we also maintain a balanced diet and our health.  I created this blog to provide an interactive forum for busy mother's who can provide feedback on their experiences in trying to maintain a  healthy lifestyle and be PHIT.  I will also share ideas on how I manage my time as a mother, student, and business manager and stay PHIT all the while.

My name is Peeches and I am a 29 year old PHIT mom of two children.  My son is 8 and my daughter is 4.  I had my son at age 21 and because of that, I had to postpone my college and career objectives and become a mother.  When I had my daughter a few years later, I was determined to get myself in shape and accomplish my college and career goals.  It wasn't easy to start though.  I have been through many ups and downs.  I have started and stopped, gained motivation and lost it.  Once I realized that the battle wasn't me trying to reach my goals, ( it was not believing I can reach my goals) I set in my mind that in order for me to get the success I am seeking, I have to believe it and see it.  Once I trained my mind to think the way I needed to think, my results started coming in abundance.

Although I get very busy with football, gymnastics, school, and work, I realize that I am the driving force of my family and I have to be in good health in order to juggle all that I have going.  My fiance' is a personal trainer here in Georgia and goes by the name Travis The Trainer.  He and I started his personal training business in May 2012.  I work as his business manager and together, he and I are on a constant grind to get this business thriving.  While working in the fitness industry, I am beginning to learn that having a trainer is not in everyone's budget and it doesn't fit into everyone's schedule.  I am too busy sometimes to get in on a training session.  But the importance of me being PHIT out weighs the demands of my regular day to day responsibilities.  So I get my time in however I can.  I will walk the steps at school instead of riding the elevator.  I will use water bottles at home as dumb bells to get a few curls in.  I will do almost anything in order to maintain my health.  It is important to do so being a PHIT mom!

Subscribe to my blog and I will give you tips for 'around the house' workouts, quick healthy meals when you are on the go, and even ways to add a small workout to your hectic schedule.  I will help you gain the confidence and drive that all PHIT mom's possess.  And together we can support each other in our journeys to become the most Phabulous Phit mom's we can be!!
